As you get ready to stock up on school supplies for your family, you are encouraged to think about this...
Almost half of the children in Char-Em ISD qualified for free or reduced lunch last year. Chances are the numbers will not change much for this school year. These families will struggle to buy all the extra school supplies needed for their children. Can you imagine how these kids feel? Or how their parents feel? And most of these families are working, some two or three jobs but still struggle to make ends meet financially.
So as you shop for pens, paper, pencils, folders and crayons...please pick up a few extra items and help us Stuff the Bus on August, 16th from 10am to 5pm. School supplies can be dropped off at Petoskey Walmart, The UPS Store in Petoskey, Harbor Springs IGA and Kmart in Charlevoix.
