Description

Citizen Scientist volunteers are needed for our Volunteer Stream Monitoring program. No prior experience required. Free training is offered in the spring and fall. For details, contact David Edwards, 231-347-1181 or email davide@watershedcouncil.org

During the training, volunteers learn about the various aspects of our stream monitoring program, general macroinvertebrate biology, and the equipment used to collect important data about the health of our local streams. A hands-on practicum on the Bear River is included so that volunteers can “get their feet wet” before going into the field.

Time commitment: 2-4, 4-hour days in the spring and fall working with a stream team to collected important stream data and aquatic macroinvertebrates.
